Magical new “Story Specials” launch in York this Christmas
We’ve teamed up with the creative team at Enchantica’s for a new collection of interactive adventures, starting with eight events of “The Santa Story Special”.
This Christmas, a brand-new series of family adventures arrives in York, with Santa ditching his classic Reindeer sleigh for a very, very special double-decker bus.

New interactive “Story Specials” with Enchantica’s
“Story Specials” combine Christmas storytelling and live character performers, with music and interactive games that take families across the city centre on board a fabulous closed-top CitySightseeing bus.
Eight shows are currently scheduled for 2026: Four on Saturday, December 12th, and four on Sunday, December 13th.
The Santa Story Special – All aboard for a magical festive journey with Father Christmas! Expect Christmas storytelling, characters, music, interactive fun and plenty of surprises along the way.
Created especially for families, “Story Specials” bring together the excitement of travelling aboard the iconic bus, the wonder of York’s incredible history and stories, and a generous sprinkling of Enchantica’s signature immersive theatre.
Each experience lasts approximately 90 minutes, with events at 9:30 am, 11:30 am, 1:30 pm, and 3:30 pm, starting at Exhibition Square in York City Centre.
Tickets start at £35 per person and are available online; however, due to limited capacity, families are encouraged to book early to secure their place.
Don’t worry if you miss out on “Story Specials” this Christmas.
Next year, we’ll launch The Easter Story Special – a colourful springtime adventure filled with Easter characters, games, storytelling and family fun as York comes alive around you. Tickets will go on sale in early 2027.
