Grand Opera House

Grade II listed theatre on the corner of Clifford and Cumberland Streets hosting major touring productions.
Originally built as a corn exchange in 1868 and converted into a music hall that opened in 1902, the Grand Opera House is now operated by the Ambassador Theatre Group and stages a year-round programme of West End musicals, drama, opera, ballet, comedy and family shows. Its richly decorated auditorium and central city-centre location make it one of York’s principal live entertainment venues.
