Mon 26 October – Sat 31 October
Tours leave at 4pm from Exhibition Square and run for one hour
Join us on board for The Bloody Tour of York, hosted by York’s own Mad Alice. She died in 1825, but she’s not letting that stop her from spreading the story of York’s terrifying history, covering plagues and executions and everything in between.
If it’s gory and gruesome and it happened in York, you can bet you will hear all about it, including stories of the infamous highwayman Dick Turpin and the treasonous Guy Fawkes. The tour will take you to all of the city’s most historical and blood-soaked landmarks and show you a new side of York you’ve never seen before.
Kids will love the tour just as much as the adults in an afternoon of informative and entertaining fun for all the family.
Thu 29 October – Sat 31 October
Tours leave at 7pm from Exhibition Square and run for 1h 20 mins
We’re taking you on a spooky journey through time this Halloween, as our tour guides use a stolen time travel device to summon famous historical villians to bring a new level of immersion to our tour.
The darker side of York will be the focus on this special tour, with visitors from the past including the infamous highwayman Dick Turpin and the forboding Head Doctor of Bootham Mental Hospital, who will hijack the tour and tell you all about their gruesome tales.
Join us this Halloween for a night of thrills as we reveal a whole different side of York.
Tue 15 December – Tue 22 December
Tours leave Exhibition Square every hour from 10am to 3pm
